When you leave yourself open to the possibilities, something magical can happen. I’d only planned on painting one (large) picture that was “Route 15 to Gordonsville”. I was pretty happy with the result so I did another, smaller, piece that captured the late afternoon shadows – “Summer Evening #1″. I was on a roll!
I kept going and continued the series with “Summer Evening #2″. Each can be hung alone or together as a very nice diptych. That wasn’t where I’d planned to go when I started. But I recognized that some good things were happening and kept going.
