Painting in Action: Painting a Dynamic (non-trite) Sunset

Sunsets are great favorites of artists and art lovers for a reason – they’re so gorgeous! How can anyone resist the brilliant color and the always changing show in the sky?

However, it’s easy to let that those beautiful pinks, reds and oranges take over the painting and become that thing that must always be avoided – the cliché. Here’s how I did it.
